Welcome to chapter 2.1 of the Compact Legacy! In this chapter we get lots of fun, lots of birthdays and a brand new house.

To open this chapter, we have our first birthday- Jason is turning old and grey! He wanted a smaller affair then Emma's birthday so I didn't throw him a full party.

Emma- "Good grief, I'm married to Mortimer Goth."

The Gen 3 kids are very close to another and they see their cousins quite a bit which is cute. Barney here, who is Callum's son, came over after school to play.

Zoe and Peyton, however, would rather go and watch the football game on TV after school.
Peyton- "I'm telling you, he should have got a red card for that!"
Zoe- "No way! He did nothing wrong. That was an totally legal kick."

The television is certainly a very popular place in this household, they're practically lining up to watch the latest episode of Mega Superheroes. Even Emma can't resist.
Emma- "I'm just making sure it doesn't contain anything inappropriate for the little ones."
Tyler- "Give it up Grandma, you watch every week."

A very typical legacy sight- the kids sitting outside in a row doing their homework. Or maybe that's just because I don't want them disappearing indoors before they get it finished. Good thing it's not raining.

Once the homework is finished the kids can go back to doing what they do best- seeking attention from their grandparents.

Jason and Emma spend a lot of their time relaxing, their most important job as legacy founding couple taken care of. Life is good. Their kids have done well, they've got lots of grandkids. Emma has been a brilliant founder and I'm really going to miss her when she goes.

The garden may be small, but it's big enough for a all-out water balloon fight between the kids on a sunny afternoon. Homework? What homework?

Vanessa takes her job as the resident family Sim so seriously that she's figured out how to carry a baby like a kangaroo. Don't drop her!

Luckily she survives this experience and grows into a predictably adorable toddler. Her personality is 6/9/8/3/4.

And apparently she had such a unremarkable toddlerhood I have no more photos until her next birthday. This time, I invited all the cousins round for a big family playdate.

The sun shone and the kids had a great time playing together.

They played cops and robbers..

They demonstrated a lack of nice points...

And to finish off the perfect day they had a big smustle party. Everyone went home exhausted but happy. I'm going to have to do this once per generation now because it was so totally cute.

In the days that followed, I had a case of a cops and robbers related injury. I never knew this game was so dangerous.

Aww, cute twins being cute.

Jason loves cooking for his family. He makes a mean mac & cheese. Hey Jason, where's the gloves?
"Shut up."
Seems after all this time, it's still a touchy subject.
And Emma, despite having high Mechanical points still uses the time old method of percussive maintenance to fix the sinks. Some things never change.

Just Emma being an awesome grandma. <3

Have I mentioned how much I love my legacy founder?
"Yes, yes you have. Many times."
You know, I was good to you. No need for the stereotypical founder sarcasm.
"All part of the job."

Emma- "Vanessa! I almost tripped over you!"
Vanessa- "Never mind you almost tripped over me, you trod on my foot! I came down here to get some peace and quiet."
Emma- "Well put the light on next time!"
Vanessa- "sigh."

Peyton & Lydia being cute :D

That morning was a kind of bittersweet one for Zoe & Lydia- their last day of primary school before they became teenagers. Awwh.

As for Emma, she unearthed one of her first paintings from when she first moved into the lot. She put it pride of place in the hallway and smiled as she reminisced about her lawn living days.

In the evening it was time for Zoe & Lydia's birthdays. Only a small family party this time but just as meaningful.
Zoe went first, holding her breath as she twirled around. She rolled the Fortune aspiration.

Then it was Lydia's turn to grow up, and she rolled Family.

Of course, afterwards there was smustling. There's always smustling at a Redds birthday party, no matter how small.

Two particular people brought round their old bubble bar and went into the garden to relieve their college days.

Life was also good for Jupe, who was progressing through his career in Oceanography very nicely.

"Mmm, pizza!"
You'd better eat it quickly and get dressed, we've got a house move to complete!

Their old house was getting far too cramped for the number of people living there, so whilst I like it's time to make a move.

Some floorplans of the old house for the nosy and curious. You can see how small the bathroom was for 9 Sims!!

And here's their new house! Lots and lots more space and on a much bigger lot. The Redds are finally leaving their compact days behind!

And a nice big patio for sunbathing founder couples :D

Not only sunbathing though- Peyton and Tyler were the first to have their birthday party at the new house.

Peyton rolled the Knowledge aspiration and Tyler was another Fortune. Good grief!

Leah! You're 8 years old, get off that thing!
"No! It tastes of bubblegum and rainbows."

The patio is big enough for the entire family to party now, and that's only a tiny bit of the garden.

And a DJ booth was even hired for guess what? Smustling. Needless to say, everybody had a smashing time.

I'm going to hide that thing.
"This stuff tastes like oil, but man it's good!"
Anyway, with that, we end this chapter! Join us next time for more birthdays, more smustling and Generation 3 hitting college.
Thanks for reading!
